Basic Pain Training (ST3/4)

These are the requirements of the pain module in ST 3/4:

• Minimum of 10 pain clinic sessions preferably within a module (more sessions would be an advantage). Sessional shortfall must be made up, although this can be as an ST 5.
• At least one session should be a procedure list.
• Experience of acute pain and postoperative analgesia will be gained outside of the formal pain module.
• Experience of regional anaesthetic and analgesic techniques will be obtained outside of the formal pain module.
• You will need to download the pain logbook and fill it in.
