Record of In-Training Assessment (RITA)
Organising a Record of In-Training Assessment (RITA)
RITAs occur at the end of each year. Local RITAs occur at the end of ST years 1, 3 and 5, and Regional RITAs at the end of years 2, 4, 6 and 7.
The speciality manager at the deanery, currently Diane Lloyd, will let you know when you are due a RITA. It is up to you to liaise with your college tutors and get the paperwork done in time, otherwise you will be given a RITA D which signals room for improvement. You are aiming for a RITA C (satisfactory progress, move on to next year) at the end of each year and a RITA G (all aspects of training completed) at the end of year 7.
All paperwork that you need to complete can be found on the Deanery website www.severninstitute.nhs.uk.
The link is also here for Local RITAs and Regional RITAs
You also need to update your curriculum vitae and take a copy along with you.
